Best public golf courses in Charlotte, NC?

Has anyone played at Birkdale Golf Club? I’ve heard it’s a beautiful course, but not sure about the green fees and overall affordability for the average public player.

Personally, I prefer Renaissance Park Golf Course. The greens fees are very reasonable, and the course is well-maintained. It’s a great value for the money.

I’m torn between Olde Sycamore and Raintree Country Club. Both seem to offer a good public golf experience, but I’m curious which one has the better customer service and overall vibe.

Haha, good question, Larry. As someone who’s played both, I’d say the vibe at Raintree is a bit more relaxed and casual, while Olde Sycamore has a slightly more ‘upscale’ feel. But the staff at both courses has always been friendly and accommodating in my experience.

For a beginner-friendly and affordable option, I’d suggest checking out Renaissance Park Golf Course. The layout is pretty straightforward, and the greens fees are very reasonable. It’s a great place to work on your game without feeling too intimidated.

I recently played at Tega Cay Golf Club and was really impressed with the facilities. The clubhouse has a fantastic restaurant and bar, and the driving range and practice greens are top-notch. The course itself is scenic and well-designed, making for a great day of golf.

Hmm, I haven’t played at Raintree or Tega Cay yet. What about some other good public options in the Charlotte area? Are there any with unique features or amenities that stand out?

Another great choice is the Ballantyne Golf Club. They have an impressive clubhouse with a full-service restaurant and bar, as well as a top-notch practice facility with a large driving range and multiple practice greens.

I’m a big fan of PalisadesCC. The layout is challenging but fair, and the course is always in great condition. They also have some nice amenities like a well-stocked pro shop and a cozy clubhouse with a grill and bar.

I agree, Palisades is definitely one of the standout public courses in Charlotte. The practice facilities are also top-notch, with a driving range, chipping green, and multiple putting greens.

Has anyone played at the Greystone Golf Club? I’ve heard they have some really unique features, like a par-3 course and a FootGolf course. Sounds like a fun place to mix up your golfing experience.

Yes, Greystone is great! The par-3 course is perfect for working on your short game, and the FootGolf course is a really fun way to mix things up. They also have a nice clubhouse and practice facilities.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation yet. It’s a beautiful course with some really scenic holes. The clubhouse is a bit on the smaller side, but the overall experience is top-notch.

Hmm, lots of great public courses in Charlotte to choose from. I guess the best one really depends on your personal preferences - do you want a more challenging layout, or are you looking for a more relaxed, scenic round? Either way, there seems to be something for everyone in the area.

You’re absolutely right! I think it’s worth trying out a few different courses in the area to get a feel for what suits your golfing style best. The great thing is that there are so many quality public options to choose from in Charlotte.
