Avoid hot places like your car during summer or damp basements; those can ruin them! Just keep them cool and dry.
So true! I found a lost golf ball in my car last summer, and it felt like a rock - completely ruined!
I always keep my golf balls in a cool closet wrapped in cloth. Works well for me! No more hard rocks! 
Haha, that’s a creative idea! I wonder if any cloth is better than others for wrapping them up.
Soft cotton cloth is best. It reduces friction and protects against scratches while still allowing airflow. Just keep them out of moisture!

If you’re really keen on longevity, some people even refrigerate their balls! But, I wouldn’t recommend freezing them. 
Refrigeration?! That’s wild! I guess I’ll stick to the basics for now. What do you all think about golf balls that are past their prime?
Past their prime? Well, if they still feel good, you might be able to play with them a bit before retirement! Use them for practice if nothing else.
