Looking for the Best Golf Courses in CT!

I’m on the hunt for some top golf courses in Connecticut, and I’d love your recommendations! Whether they’re public, private, or semi-private, I want to know the best spots to tee off. If you have any favorites, please share! Here are some things I’m particularly interested in:

  • Course conditions: What are the fairways and greens like?
  • Amenities: Do they have good clubhouses or practice facilities?
  • Difficulty level: Are the courses challenging for intermediate players?
  • Pricing: Any insights on green fees?

Also, if you know of any upcoming tournaments or events at these courses, that would be great to hear! Looking forward to your suggestions!

If you’re looking for the best golf courses in Connecticut, I highly recommend TPC River Highlands. It’s known for its beautiful layout and was home to the Travelers Championship. The greens are always in excellent condition!

TPC River Highlands is definitely a gem! Another favorite of mine is Lake of Isles. The scenery is stunning, and it’s a great challenge for all skill levels!

I’ve heard great things about the course at Fox Hopyard. The setting is gorgeous, and it’s ranked highly on several lists. Have any of you played there? What do you think?

Fox Hopyard is indeed beautiful! The wildlife is remarkable, too. I played there last summer, and it was one of my best experiences.

I prefer the classic feel of Yale Golf Course. The historic architecture and challenging layout make every round memorable. Plus, it’s one of the oldest courses in the U.S. You can feel the history there!

I totally agree, Gregory! Yale has such character, but I found the pace of play can be slow. Still worth it for the experience, though!

What about course conditions? I want to know which places are worth the trip based on reviews alone. Any hidden gems people might suggest apart from the usual suspects?

You should check out The Course at Yale! But my friends and I had a laugh about the squirrel population there - they seemed more interested in our snacks than our swings! It’s a unique touch, haha!

Haha, that’s hilarious! I didn’t have issues with squirrels, but I did find those bunkers challenging. It’s all about navigating those hazards, right?

Lastly, if you’re looking for unique features, check out Elmridge Golf Course! It has rustic charm and is known for its friendly staff. I love supporting local courses that take pride in their community.

If you’re looking for great golf courses in CT that won’t break the bank, I highly recommend the Course at Yale! It has a rich history and beautiful scenery, plus the fees are quite reasonable for the quality.

Absolutely agree! I also loved playing at Fairchild Wheeler. They offer fantastic rates and the condition of the courses is always top-notch!

I’ll second Fairchild Wheeler! Plus, they have two courses to choose from. Great for both beginners and advanced players. Just be sure to call ahead for tee times during weekends.

If you’re after something a bit more upscale but still affordable, consider the TPC River Highlands. While it may be pricier, the experience you get is unbeatable. Worth the splurge once in a while!

Good to know! I’ve heard about that place but haven’t had the chance to check it out. Is one course better than the other?

I think it depends on what you like in a course! The Black course at Fairchild is a bit tougher while the Green course is more laid back. Both are worth playing depending on your mood!

For a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere, I’d suggest Johnson Park Golf Course. The prices are very reasonable, and it’s a great place to work on your game without pressure.

Did someone mention affordable courses? Last summer, I played at Ashford Green and had such a fun time! Definitely a hidden gem for those who enjoy a quieter game.

Sounds fantastic! I love discovering hidden gems. What makes Ashford Green stand out for you?
