Looking for the Best Golf Courses in Syracuse, NY!

I’ve recently moved to Syracuse and I’m eager to explore the local golf scene. I’m particularly interested in finding the best golf courses around here, whether they’re public or private. If anyone has recommendations, please share your experiences!

Key Factors I’m Considering:

  • Course Quality: What’s the playing condition like?
  • Price: Are there any good affordable options?
  • User Experience: How friendly are the staff and fellow golfers?
  • Facilities: What amenities are available (restrooms, pro shop, food options, etc.)?

Some Courses I’ve Heard About:

  1. Drumlins Country Club - I’ve heard this is a solid option with great views.
  2. Syracuse Golf Club - Is it worth a visit?
  3. The Links at Sunset Ridge - I’ve seen some good reviews, but I’d like more opinions.

If you’ve played any of these or have other recommendations, please share your thoughts! What should I check out first? Looking forward to your insights!

If you’re looking for top-rated golf courses in Syracuse, you definitely need to check out Drumlins Country Club. The reviews rave about the beautiful scenery and well-maintained fairways. It’s a must-play for any golfer in the area!

I’ve heard the same about Drumlins! I played there last summer and loved the challenge of the layout. The staff were super friendly too!

Another great option is the Battle Island State Park Golf Course. It’s rated highly for its affordability and laid-back atmosphere. Perfect if you’re looking to have a casual day out on the greens.

I agree! I found it to be an excellent place for high handicappers like myself. It’s forgiving but still fun!

Have any of you tried the Timber Banks Golf Club? Just got back from there, and their views of the river are stunning! A bit pricey, though, but worth it for special occasions.

Timber Banks is nice, but I found it a bit pretentious for casual play. What do you think about the pace of play there?

I would say the pace can vary. I’ve played there during peak times and it was a bit slow, but early mornings are fantastic! Just plan ahead.

What about the Redfield Golf Course? I’ve heard mixed reviews, but some say it has the nicest greens in the area. Anyone care to share their experience?

I played Redfield last fall, and while the greens were great, the layout wasn’t the most inspired. It’s still decent for the price, though.

Another course worth mentioning is the Liverpool Golf and Country Club. I love their friendly atmosphere! Plus, the Sunday brunch after a round is a bonus.

Absolutely! I’ve enjoyed some great rounds there. That brunch definitely tops off the experience!

I had a frustrating experience at the Syracuse University Golf Course. It seemed overcrowded and the management wasn’t the best. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Totally feel you! I left midway through my round. I think they should manage tee times better.

Can anyone suggest any hidden gems? I’m always looking to explore less-popular courses that provide a good challenge and good value.

Try the Foxfire Golf Course! It was a surprise find for me. Just a small 9-hole, but a lovely setting, and the price is right!

Does anyone else think choosing a golf course can be as overwhelming as picking a Netflix series? I mean, how do you guys decide what to play next?

Haha! I totally agree! I often just go with whatever a friend recommends or flip a coin!

If you’re looking for great golf courses in Syracuse, I highly recommend Woodland Golf Club. They have an excellent clubhouse and a restaurant that offers fantastic dining options!

I’ve heard good things about Woodland! How’s the rental equipment there? I’m not bringing my clubs this time.
