I’m planning a golf trip to Massachusetts and need some help tracking down the best public golf courses in the area. I’m looking for places that not only have great facilities but also provide a fun and challenging experience.
Here are a few things I’m particularly interested in:
Course quality: Any standout courses you’d recommend?
Pricing: What are the typical green fees like at these courses?
Accessibility: Are there any courses that are easy to get to from major areas?
I’d love to hear about your personal experiences or any hidden gems you may know of. Also, if there are any notable tournaments or events happening while I’m there, that info would be fantastic too! Thanks in advance for your help.
If you’re looking for the best public golf courses in Massachusetts, you should definitely check out Myopia Hunt Club. It’s not only historic but also offers a fantastic golfing experience! The scenery is stunning. Highly recommend it!
I’ve enjoyed playing at Cape Cod National Golf Club. The course is well-maintained and offers a good challenge. It’s perfect for a full-day golf trip! Have you guys tried any courses with ocean views?
I totally agree with you, Gina! Myopia Hunt Club is top-notch. Another great one is the Links at Beaverhead – they have excellent amenities and a relaxed vibe.
For ocean views, nothing beats Old Sandwich Golf Club. The experience is serene, and the layout is phenomenal. Perfect for both beginners and advanced players!
I’m curious about the public courses in Western Massachusetts. Are there any hidden gems out there? I’ve been to a great place called Berkshire Hills, but I’d love more suggestions!
Berkshire Hills is indeed a gem! You might also want to look at the East Mountain Country Club; it’s got a fantastic staff and casual atmosphere. Plus, it’s extremely affordable!
Are we sure about the best public courses? I’ve heard mixed reviews about Cranwell Resort Golf Club. Some love it while others find it overrated. What do you all think?
I can see both sides with Cranwell. It’s a beautiful place, but some people feel the pricing isn’t justified. There are certainly better options out there.
I spent a hilarious day at FGolf Club last week! I mean, how many swings does it take to hit a hole-in-one? Seriously though, the course was well-kept and had a lively atmosphere. It’s a good time!
Haha, love that, Dennis! As for favorites, I would say Willowbend is my all-time pick. Very reflective ambiance and excellent service! It’s perfect for a relaxing day on the greens.
If you’re looking for affordable courses, try the Oakley Country Club. They have great rates and the course is really well maintained. Perfect for budget-conscious golfers!
For really affordable rates, check out the public courses in Cape Cod. Many of them offer fantastic views without breaking the bank, especially in the off-season.
