I agree, OCN is worth the extra cost for the overall experience. The greens are always in pristine condition.
I’m curious to hear if anyone has played the Legends Course at Champions Gate. I’ve been considering checking that one out.
The Legends Course is really nice, but it can be pretty pricey. The course conditions are excellent, and the clubhouse has a great restaurant. If budget is a concern, you might want to look at some of the other options first.
I’ve played most of the courses mentioned, and I have to say, you really can’t go wrong with any of them. It just comes down to your budget and personal preferences. All of them provide a great golfing experience in the Orlando area.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I think I’m going to start with Grand Cypress and Orange County National to get a feel for the top-tier public courses in Orlando. I’ll make sure to report back on my experiences.
Haha, I’m just glad we didn’t recommend Windermere Country Club. That place is a total nightmare to play these days. Avoid it at all costs!
You got that right! I played there a few months ago, and the course conditions were just awful. Not worth the money at all.
I’ve had some really great experiences at Grand Cypress over the years. The staff is always friendly, and the course is beautifully maintained. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Orlando area.
I second that! Grand Cypress is a real gem. The practice facilities are top-notch too.
The Shingle Creek Golf Club is a great public course in Orlando. It’s conveniently located near major attractions and has excellent tee time availability. Highly recommend checking it out!
I recently played at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando and had a wonderful experience. The course was in fantastic condition and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely worth considering for your golf trip.
I second that recommendation. Shingle Creek is one of the best public courses in the area and the location can't be beaten.
For a more budget-friendly option, check out the Kissimmee Golf Club. It’s a bit further from the main attractions, but the greens fees are very reasonable and the course is in good shape. Worth considering if you’re on a tighter budget.
Does anyone have experience with the ChampionsGate Golf Club? I’ve heard it’s a great facility, but I’m curious about how easy it is to secure tee times, especially during peak season.
I've played at ChampionsGate a few times and it's a fantastic course. However, you do need to book tee times well in advance, especially in peak season. The course is very popular, so flexibility is key.
I played at Celebration Golf Club a couple of years ago and found the course conditions to be a bit uneven. The pace of play was also a bit slow at times. However, the layout is really nice, and it's a solid option if you're looking for a public course in the Disney area.
Has anyone had the chance to play the Falcon’s Fire Golf Club? I’ve heard great things about the course, but I’m curious about the overall experience, including amenities and customer service.
Just wanted to chime in and say that the Hawk’s Landing Golf Club is a hidden gem in Orlando. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but the course conditions are excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a quality public course.
I'll have to add Hawk's Landing to my list. It sounds like a great under-the-radar option that could be a nice change of pace from the more well-known courses in the area.
As someone who’s played a lot of golf in the Orlando area, I’d recommend looking into the Disney-owned courses, like the Palm and Magnolia courses. They may be a bit pricier, but the quality and convenience are top-notch.
