Thoughts on the Golf Pride Tour Velvet Grips?

I’ve had my grips for over two years and they’re still in decent shape! I think a lot depends on how much you practice and play. I usually play twice a week and wipe them down after each round.

Two years is impressive! Do you notice any wear or degradation in texture? I’m curious about how they perform versus when they were new.

The texture feels a bit smoother, but I still find them very manageable. I think they lose grip slightly but nothing alarming. I play mostly in dry weather, so that might help.

I live in a very rainy area, and I’m replacing mine after only a season. They didn’t last as long as I’d hoped. Any suggestions for grips that might hold up better in wet conditions?

I’ve had similar weather issues, bmartin. For rainy days, I switched to a more textured grip, which seemed to help. Maybe try something with a rubber compound designed for moisture?

My grips are still in decent condition, but after several rounds in extreme heat, I’ve noticed some fading. I think the sun has a bigger effect on the lifespan than we might think!

Fading is one thing, but how’s the grip itself? Does it still feel solid in your hands?

Surprisingly, yes! Despite the fading, I still have a good grip. The material seems resilient against wear, which is a plus.

Does anyone find them too slick after a while, or is it just me? Maybe my hands sweat more than others, haha!

Haha! I get that. I also notice that if I play long rounds, they tend to lose some traction. Quick tip: a little rosin might help.

Just wanted to share that I’ve used these grips for a few years now and love them. They do have a nice feel and balance. With good maintenance, they can last quite long!

Glad to hear your positive feedback! I’m considering switching to these; sounds like a solid option.

If you’re looking for a reliable grip, I think the Tour Velvet is a safe bet. Just keep in mind how often you’ll play and the climate. It can make all the difference!

I’ve used Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips on my driver and they feel fantastic! The installation was straightforward; just make sure to have the right tools handy.

How do they fit on other clubs like wedges? I’m looking to upgrade my set too.

I recently put these grips on my irons and had no issues. They really add to the feel. Just make sure to clean the shaft well before applying!

The installation is easy but getting the right amount of solvent can be tricky. A little too much can make it a slippery mess! Has anyone faced that?

Yes! I had a bit of a nightmare with that. My first try went all over the place!

I find that these grips work best with mid-range to high-end clubs. Anyone using them on budget brands? What’s the feedback?

I installed them on my new set of Callaway irons, and they fit perfectly! No slippage at all during swing.
