I’m on the lookout for the best golf courses near Boston and would love some recommendations. Whether public or private, I’m interested in knowing which places are worth playing at. Here are a few things I’m particularly curious about:
Course Quality
What’s the condition of the fairways and greens?
Are the layouts challenging but fun, suitable for varying skill levels?
Accessibility
How easy is it to book a tee time?
Are the courses typically crowded?
Facilities
Do they have good practice areas, like driving ranges or putting greens?
What kind of amenities do they offer, such as dining options or pro shops?
Personal Experiences
Have you had any memorable rounds at a specific course?
Are there any hidden gems that aren’t as widely known?
I’d really appreciate any insights, personal experiences, or recommendations you can share. Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to hitting some great courses this season!
If you’re looking for great public golf courses near Boston, I highly recommend Franklin Park. It’s affordable and has a welcoming atmosphere. The fees are reasonable and the facilities are well maintained.
I love Gillette Ridge! Great experience overall. Just a heads up, though, the fees can be a bit steep on weekends, so plan ahead if you want to save a few bucks.
Another solid choice is the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park. I’ve had excellent round there with a great mix of skill levels. And it’s very friendly for all!
I find that most public courses are pretty consistent with their ratings. But, I’ve played at some where the staff didn’t seem to keep it updated – a bit frustrating!
I didn’t know Pig’s Eye had such great views! Who knew golf could come with a side of nature therapy? Anyone got a funny golfing fail to share from there?
If you’re looking for prestigious private clubs, my top pick is The Country Club in Brookline. The history is rich, and the course challenge is top-notch! Membership can be a bit pricey, but the benefits are worth it!
Oakley Country Club is excellent! Great mix of challenge and fun. Plus, the member events they host make for a tight community. Definitely worth looking into if you can handle the membership fee.
