Anyone Tried the 1-Shot Slice Fix? Need Tips!

I’ve been struggling with slicing the ball lately, and I keep hearing about Hank Haney’s ‘1-Shot Slice Fix.’ Has anyone here actually tried it?

What I want to know:

  • Does it really work?
  • Are there specific drills or tips that you found particularly helpful?
  • How long did it take you to see improvements?

I’m looking for quick fixes as I have a tournament coming up and don’t want to embarrass myself on the green! Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve been using the 1-shot slice fix for a while now. The key is to focus on your grip and stance. Shifting to a stronger grip can really help in reducing the slice. Can’t wait to hear what others think!

Absolutely! I also found that aligning my feet and shoulders with the target helps. Gave me much better results than before. Anyone else notice this?

I’ve tried the 1-shot slice fix and it has been a game-changer for me, especially the emphasis on follow-through. It really helps to keep the club on the right path!

So true, Ryan! Also, practice with alignment sticks to see your path. It’s now a part of my routine!

I personally struggled with slicing for years. The 1-shot slice fix offered some basic tweaks that were easy to adopt. Highly recommend sticking with the tips until they feel natural!

Can anyone explain how it differs from traditional methods? I somewhat get it, but still need clarity on its unique mechanics. Thanks!

Great question, Mark! The 1-shot fix focuses more on immediate adjustments rather than extensive swing changes. It’s about simplicity and quick fixes.

I found that visualization really helps. Imagine the ball going straight as you set up. It sounds silly, but this mental trick made a difference for me!

Does anyone ever feel like they revert back to slicing? I’ve been consistent, but that temptation is real sometimes. Any suggestions for keeping it under control?

Totally get that! I often use reminders on my phone to review my setup before heading out. It helps keep me focused.

For those who have struggled with it, this fix really is a breath of fresh air! Just remember to practice slowly first; it really helps solidify those changes.

What I love most is it’s not just about mechanics; it builds confidence too. Well worth giving it a shot if slices are frustrating you!

Absolutely! Having faith in my swing has changed the game for me. Keep up the good work, everybody!

I tried it during a round just for kicks and ended up hitting straighter shots! Might have to make it my new go-to, but I’ll still need practice.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel pressure to implement this perfectly right away? Golf is a journey, people! Let’s not put too much pressure on ourselves.

I’ve been diving into the 1-shot slice fix as well! A great driver that helped me is the Callaway Epic Max. It has adjustable weights that really helped with aligning my shots more accurately.

I’ve heard good things about that driver! I’ve also had success with Srixon golf balls. They seem to reduce spin for slices which might help.

For those trying to fix their slice, consider getting custom fitting! It made a huge difference for me. A fitting session can balance your clubs better for your swing, which helps the slice problem.

Good point about custom fitting! What about adjusting the loft on your driver? Lower lofts tend to reduce the slice effect; I’ve been experimenting with mine lately, and it’s been promising.
