Looking for Feedback on P790 UDI 2 Iron – Worth the Hype?

P790 UDI 2 Iron: Seeking Your Thoughts and Experiences

I’ve been hearing a lot about the TaylorMade P790 UDI 2 iron lately and I’m really curious to see what everyone thinks about it. There seems to be a lot of buzz surrounding this club, and I’m wondering if it lives up to the reputation it has built.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Personal Experiences: If you’ve used the P790 UDI 2 iron, how did it perform for you on the course? Were you able to hit your target distances?
  • Comparisons: How does this iron stack up against others in the same category? Any notable pros or cons when compared to other utility irons like the Callaway or Ping models?
  • Specifications: I’m also keen to know about the specs. Is it forgiving? How’s the feedback on off-center hits?
  • Recommendations: Would you recommend this iron for someone who is looking to improve their game? What type of golfer do you think it is best suited for?

I really appreciate your insights, as I’m considering making a purchase in the near future. Feel free to share any tips you might have for getting the best performance out of this club, or if you have any recommendations for similar models.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I’ve been using the P790 UDI 2 iron for a few months now. The distance is impressive, and I find it has great accuracy on approaches to the green.

I agree! I’ve hit some of my longest approach shots with it. The feel at impact is also really solid. Do you think it goes further than some traditional irons?

For me, the P790 UDI 2 iron feels a bit more forgiving compared to other 2 irons I’ve tried. It’s easier to launch, which is a plus for my game.

Sounds good, @danny99! Is it as forgiving as the King Utility I just switched from? I found that one quite difficult to hit consistently.

In terms of distance and accuracy, the P790 UDI 2 iron definitely stands out! However, I still prefer my traditional 3 iron for that extra loft for tight lies.

I can see why you’d say that, @travisbarron. But don’t you think the P790’s tech makes it a great option even in those situations? I’m all about pushing the limits.

It feels fantastic to swing! Just don’t forget it’s still a two-iron; it’s not going to replace your hybrid for versatility, but it definitely has its place.

That’s true! When I hit it just right, I feel like a pro! But what about mishits?

I find mishits travel a bit shorter but still relatively straight. It’s quite forgiving for a 2 iron, surprisingly. Not a complete loss.

@angelaperkins, that’s definitely a plus! Have you compared it to the TaylorMade 790s? Thinking of making a change.

If I had a dollar for every review saying how the P790 UDI 2 iron is the best ever, I’d be buying one right now. But I think it’s overrated!

Honestly, @esmith, I’m surprised to hear that. What do you find overrated about it?

Look, it’s good, but I feel like the hype is more about marketing than performance. I expected more from the investment, honestly.

Can’t argue with that! Sometimes the expectations are sky-high for new clubs. What price range are we looking at for the P790?

The price is definitely up there, around $200-$250, but I think it’s worth it for the performance I’ve seen so far.

If you can hit it consistently and get the control you need, it beats many others in that price range. Just have to put in the practice!

So true! A great club in the wrong hands might still yield poor results.

I’ve been using the P790 UDI 2 Iron for a few weeks now. The forged construction really gives it a solid feel at impact, and I love the sleek design. It definitely looks premium in the bag!

What do you think about the face design? I’ve heard it can really affect spin, especially on those tricky lies.
