Looking for the Best Golf Resorts in New England

Seeking Advice on Golf Resorts

I’m planning a golf trip to New England and I’m on the hunt for the best golf resorts in the area. I’m looking for recommendations that include not just great golf courses but also accommodations that cater to golf enthusiasts. If you’ve been to any amazing resorts, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

What I’m Looking For:

  • Quality Golf Courses: I want to play on courses that are well-maintained and offer a good challenge. If the course has a good mix of difficulty levels, even better!
  • Accommodation: Resorts with good lodging options that keep golfers in mind—think amenities like clubhouses, pro shops, and golf packages.
  • Location: Ideally, a place that offers stunning scenery or is close to other attractions I can enjoy during downtime.
  • User Reviews: If you have favorite resorts, I’d love to hear what you thought about your stay and play experience.

Additional Thoughts:

While I’m mostly interested in the golf side of things, I wouldn’t mind activities for non-golfers too. If the significant others in our group have options while we’re hitting the links, that would be a plus!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or insights you can share. This trip is very important to us, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

If you’re looking for a great golf resort in New England, I highly recommend the Ocean Edge Resort in Cape Cod. They have courses for all skill levels and beautiful views! The amenities include pools and a spa, making it a perfect getaway.

Ocean Edge is fantastic! However, for those just starting out, I suggest checking out the Green Mountains of Vermont. They have plenty of beginner-friendly courses and lovely scenery!

Another great resort is the Wentworth by the Sea in New Hampshire. Their course accommodates both beginners and seasoned players. Plus, the hotel is very nice!

Definitely consider the Mohawk Golf Club in New York, not too far from New England! They have resources for all golfers and a lovely clubhouse for relaxing after a game.

I’ve heard great things about Wentworth! For those aiming to improve their skills, do any resorts offer coaching or clinics?

Yes! The Ballyowen Golf Club in New Jersey offers excellent clinics and lessons for players of all skill levels. It’s a bit of a trek, but worth it for their facilities.

What about accommodations? Are there resorts that cater specifically for families? That might make traveling easier.

Great question! The Woodstock Inn & Resort is family-friendly and includes golf lessons for all ages. They also have a kids club for younger ones!

Not every resort has the same vibe. While luxurious ones like the Cliff House in Maine are excellent, they might not be suited for everyone’s budget or skill level.

Absolutely! That’s why it’s essential to research beforehand. Everyone’s preferences differ—what works for a beginner might not fit an advanced player.

I’m just hoping to find a great place without breaking the bank. Do any of these resorts have good deals or packages?

Check out the discounts at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, ME. They often have package deals that include meals and golf—perfect for budget-conscious travelers!

Nice! Plus, the view from Samoset is beautiful—it’s hard to beat. I’ll have to consider it!

I highly recommend checking out the Ocean Edge Resort in Cape Cod! The best time to visit is late spring or early fall when the weather is perfect and rates are lower.

Great tip! Has anyone tried the tee times at Crumpin-Fox in Bernardston? I’m curious about availability during July.

Crumpin-Fox is fantastic! I was there last July, and although it was busy, the morning tee times were still available. Just book a few weeks in advance.

Make sure to check the local weather too. New England can be unpredictable in summer; I got caught in a rainstorm last year at the Balsams.

Good point! What about the best time for fall foliage golfing? That sounds amazing.

Fall is absolutely the best! Resorts like the Equinox in Vermont have beautiful views. September and October are peak times, but rates can be higher then.
