Looking for the Best Traverse City Golf Courses!

I’m planning a golf trip to Traverse City and I’m on the hunt for the best golf courses in the area. Ideally, I’m looking for a mix of well-known and hidden gem courses that offer great playability and a memorable experience.

What I’m Interested In:

  • Course Quality: Which courses have the best greens and maintenance?
  • Playability: Are there courses suitable for all skill levels?
  • Experience: Any recommendations based on your personal experiences?
  • Pricing: What are the budget-friendly options without sacrificing quality?

I’ve heard of a few popular spots, but I’d love to hear your recommendations and any tips you might have! It would be awesome to get a local’s perspective on what not to miss. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you’re looking for the best courses, I highly recommend Elmbrook Golf Course. The greens are well-maintained and the staff is super friendly! It’s rated 4.5 stars on most review sites.

I’ve played at Grand Traverse Resort and I loved it! They have three courses, but the Mistwood Golf Course is definitely the standout. Great for all levels.

I agree! Elmbrook is a gem. Another one to consider is Bay Meadows. It’s challenging but so much fun with beautiful scenery.

Grand Traverse Resort is great! I found the Bear Course quite challenging but rewarding. It has some tough holes that test your skills!

Does anyone have thoughts on the vineyards course? I’ve heard mixed reviews about the conditions lately.

The Vineyards can vary. I’ve played it a few times, and it was decent, but not as nice as some others mentioned. Fairways were a bit rough.

First time golfing in Traverse City! I’m looking for more info on affordable options. Any recommendations?

For affordable options, check out the public courses like Traverse City Golf Club. It’s got decent ratings and a good atmosphere without breaking the bank.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I’m excited to try them out. Have you guys had experiences with the twilight rates at any of these courses?

Yes! Twilight rates can be a steal at many courses around here. I played Elmbrook one evening and it was both affordable and less crowded.

I criticize when I need to! Seriously, some courses treat golfers poorly. There’s no reason Vineyards should be so inconsistent with their greens.

I can see where you’re coming from, but every course has its ups and downs. Maybe try expressing your concerns directly with the management?

Thank you for the support, everyone! Now I’m feeling more ready to hit the greens and explore what Traverse City has to offer!

Let us know how it goes! Are you planning to check out all the courses or just a couple?

I think each course has its unique charm! I love the amenities at The Crown, but that’s just my preference. Are you looking for any special features?

I find the pricing can be misleading sometimes. Some courses look cheaper but end up having high green fees. Always check the total cost before booking!

A driving range is a must for me! How do the courses compare in that regard?

Most courses in Traverse City have good driving ranges; Crown and Great Lakes are top picks. It allows ample practice time before your round!

Exactly! It’s all about the fine print. You think you’re getting a deal until you see the extra fees.
