Looking for the Best Weekend Golf Trips - Any Recommendations?

I’m planning a weekend getaway focused on golf and I’m on the hunt for the best trips out there. My goal is to find some great courses that are not too far away and won’t break the bank.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Availability of Courses: I’m interested in well-maintained courses that provide a good challenge.
  • Stay and Play Packages: If there are any resorts or hotels offering packages that include overnight stays and green fees, I’d love to know more!
  • Budget-Friendly Options: It would be great to find some hidden gems that are affordable yet offer a fantastic golf experience.
  • Travel Tips: Any advice on how to make the most out of a short trip would be super helpful.

Some Ideas I Considered:

  • Myrtle Beach, SC: Known for its many courses and vacation rentals.
  • Palm Springs, CA: A classic spot, but looking for something a little less crowded.
  • Lake Tahoe, NV/CA: Beautiful scenery and good courses but might be pricier.

I’m open to any suggestions, whether they’re local hotspots or destinations that require a bit of travel. Also, any tips on the best times to go or deals that I should keep an eye out for would be much appreciated. Let’s hear what you’ve got!

I recommend checking out Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. There are some fantastic courses like Harbour Town Golf Links and good amenities for a weekend trip.

Sounds great! I’ve always wanted to play at Harbour Town. Do they have good hotels around there?

Absolutely! Many resorts like the Sea Pines Resort offer packages that include stay and play options, which is perfect for a quick getaway!

If you’re up for something different, consider Scottsdale, Arizona! The golf scene there is vibrant, plus the weather is usually perfect for golf year-round.

Good point! I love how many great courses there are. Any specific courses you’d recommend?

Definitely check out Troon North. The views are stunning, and the courses are challenging but fun!

I heard their service is top-notch too. Is there a good time of year to visit?

Spring and fall are ideal times. Summers can get really hot, but if you can handle heat, there are great deals!

I personally love the Napa Valley for a laid-back golf weekend. Play golf then enjoy some fine wine!

Great suggestion! Any courses you would recommend in Napa?

Check out the Chardonnay Golf Club. It’s beautiful and has some nice amenities as well!

Wine and golf, what could be better? I need to plan my trip now!

Remember, guys: golf trips can be a blast, but don’t forget to bring sunscreen, especially in places like Arizona!

That’s solid advice! I might even bring more than just sunscreen if it’s really that hot!

Looking to plan a weekend golf trip soon! Any tips on how to budget for travel and green fees?

Consider using apps like GolfNow for discounted green fees. You can save a ton! Also, Airbnb can offer good accommodations without breaking the bank.

I agree with ryanmichael about using GolfNow! I’ve saved as much as 50% on tee times. Don’t forget to check for deals on meals near the courses too.

In addition to GolfNow, try calling courses directly. Sometimes they have unadvertised specials! Also, road trips can be cheaper than flying, depending on where you’re going.

Any recommendations on great destinations to visit? I prefer places that offer both great courses and good nightlife.
