Hello fellow golfers! I’m looking for some advice on the top golf courses in the Kansas City area. I’ve been playing golf for a few years now, but I’m always eager to discover new and exciting courses to explore. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the golf scene in Kansas City, but I’m not sure where to start.
What are some of the must-play courses in the area? I’m particularly interested in courses that offer beautiful scenery, challenging layouts, and a great overall experience. I’m open to both public and private courses, as long as they provide an exceptional golfing experience.
If you have any personal recommendations or insights to share, I’d love to hear them. I’m hoping to plan a golf trip to Kansas City in the near future, and I want to make sure I hit all the best courses. Any tips on course conditions, green fees, or local knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Let’s help each other discover the top golf destinations in the Kansas City region!
As a frequent golfer in the Kansas City area, I highly recommend Swope Memorial Golf Course. It’s a challenging but fair layout with well-maintained greens and fairways. The value for money is excellent too.
Swope Memorial is a great course, but have you tried Falcon Ridge? It’s a bit more high-end, but the conditions are amazing and the views are breathtaking.
I’m looking to play a few courses in the Kansas City area next month. Any other recommendations besides Swope Memorial and Falcon Ridge? I’m open to both public and private courses.
Overland Park Golf Course is another solid option. It’s a classic municipal course with affordable greens fees and a fun layout. The only downside is it can get a bit crowded on weekends.
Have you guys played Deer Creek Golf Club? I heard it’s one of the best private courses in the area, but I’m not sure if they allow public play. Anyone have experience with that?
Oof, Deer Creek is a tough ticket. I have a buddy who’s a member there, and he says they’re pretty selective about letting non-members play. But if you can get on, it’s apparently an incredible course. Maybe try calling and seeing if they have any public tee times available.
I’m a big fan of Milburn Golf and Country Club. It’s a private course, but they do allow public play on certain days. The course is in impeccable condition, and the greens are lightning fast. It’s a bit pricier than some of the other options, but worth it in my opinion.
Interesting, I haven’t heard of Milburn Golf and Country Club before. I’ll have to look into that one. Do you know if they have any deals or discounts for public play? I’m always on the hunt for a good value.
I’ve heard great things about Milburn as well. Maybe we can organize a small golf trip there and split the costs. It would be nice to play a truly top-notch course for a change!
I’m planning a golf trip to Kansas City and would love some advice on the best courses to play, where to stay, and how to get around. Any recommendations would be really helpful!
The Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate is a must-play in Kansas City. It’s a challenging yet beautiful course that offers a great golfing experience. As for accommodations, I’d recommend staying in the Overland Park area - lots of hotels and easy access to the courses.
I’d also recommend Shadow Glen Golf Club. It’s a beautiful, challenging course that’s not too far from the city center. For transportation, I’d suggest renting a car - it’ll give you the flexibility to get to the courses and explore the city. Let me know if you need any other tips!
Hmm, I’m not sure I agree with some of those course recommendations. Have you considered Swope Memorial Golf Course? It’s a classic layout that’s a bit more affordable but still a great test of golf.
I’m planning a trip to KC too and would love to hear more about the best way to get around. Is public transportation an option or is a rental car the way to go?
Haha, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks Swope Memorial is underrated! It may not be as flashy as some of the other courses, but you can’t beat the value. Plus, the views are amazing.
