What are the best game improvement irons of 2019?

I’m looking to upgrade my irons and I want to make sure I’m getting the right ones to help improve my game.

I’ve been playing for a few years and I tend to struggle with consistency and distance, so I’ve been researching game improvement irons specifically from 2019.

What I’m hoping to find:

  • Recommendations: What models stood out to you?
  • Forgiveness: Which irons provide the most forgiveness on off-center hits?
  • Distance: Are there specific models that can help with maximizing my distance?
  • Feel: How do different brands feel during play?

Any personal experiences or reviews you could share would be greatly appreciated! I’m all ears on anything that could help me with picking the right clubs.

I’m looking for reliable game improvement irons from 2019 as well. I’ve heard great things about the TaylorMade M4. Anyone have experience with them?

Don’t forget about the Callaway Mavrik! They were also released in 2019 and have a great reputation for distance and forgiveness.

The M4’s are fantastic! I noticed a big improvement in my consistency. The ball flight is higher and straighter. Totally recommend them!

I second that! I got my Mavrik irons last year and they feel incredible. Very user-friendly.

The G410s are a solid choice! I used them for a couple of rounds and the feel was just amazing. Definitely on my list of top picks!

I’ve been playing with Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal and love the feedback they provide. Great blend of distance and feel.

I’ve heard that’s a strong suit for Mizuno! That’s on my shortlist now. Thanks for the tip!

What about the Cobra F9 irons? I haven’t seen many reviews on those yet.

I tried the F9s last year, and they were surprisingly good! Not as popular, but they definitely deliver on performance.

Just to chime in, I think it’s essential to try different brands. Everyone’s swing is unique! Personally, I liked my experience with the Titleist T300.

Exactly! Slapping a recommendation without testing is risky. I’m leaning towards the TaylorMade and Callaway combo for now.

Anyone else find it interesting how many options we have now? It can feel overwhelming!

True! Sometimes I wish I could just test them all on the course! A blind taste test for irons, anyone?

I totally agree! Swing speed also plays a huge role. If you’re slower, look for lighter clubs that can help you generate more distance.

Absolutely! And don’t forget to think about your typical playing style. If you play on courses with lots of hazards, a more forgiving iron could save you strokes.

I’ve always found the hybrids to be great for game improvement. They provide the forgiveness of an iron but can also give you that extra height on approach shots.

A solid recommendation is the Callaway Mavrik, noted for its distance and forgiveness. It worked wonders for my game, especially when I was getting back into golf.

I’ve heard good things about the Mavrik as well! I’m curious if anyone prefers the TaylorMade SIM2 for its feel?

The SIM2 does have great feedback! However, I feel it might not be as forgiving for higher handicaps. It’s a matter of personal preference after all.
