What’s the Best Golf in the Caribbean?

I’m planning a golfing getaway and have my sights set on the Caribbean. I know there are some amazing courses and resorts down there, but I’m overwhelmed by the options. Where should I even start?

Here are some things I’m looking for:

  • Top-rated golf courses
  • Resorts that cater specifically to golfers
  • Recommendations based on personal experiences
  • Ideally, I’d love to know about courses that offer stunning ocean views or unique landscapes.

I’ve heard about a few places, but I want to make sure I’m not missing out on hidden gems. If you have any tips on specific locations, packages, or even travel advice, I would genuinely appreciate it!

A few questions I have:

  1. Are there any all-inclusive resorts that focus on golf?
  2. What courses would you say are a must play?
  3. Are there certain times of the year that are more ideal for golfing in the Caribbean?

Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to your suggestions and insights!

Happy golfing!

I’ve played a few courses in the Caribbean, but nothing beats the Teeth of the Dog in the Dominican Republic. The ocean views are absolutely stunning, and the course is often ranked among the best in the world!

Teeth of the Dog is amazing! I also love the courses at Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas. The layout is incredible, and the service is top-notch!

I’ve heard great things about Royal Westmoreland! Is it true that they have a bar on every hole? That would make for an interesting round!

Teeth of the Dog is great, but you should check out the Royal Westmoreland in Barbados. The course is beautiful and challenging, plus you get to see some amazing wildlife while you play!

Haha, not quite! But they do have a fantastic club house. If you’re looking for unparalleled views, Puerto Rico’s El Conquistador is a must-visit. The course is tucked along cliffs with breathtaking scenery!

El Conquistador was one of my favorites! The weather was perfect when I played and the atmosphere was lively. What time of year do you think is best to book a tee time there?

Spring is ideal! Fewer crowds and the weather is usually perfect with a nice breeze. And if you’re in the mood for a challenge, try the golf course at Half Moon in Jamaica. It’s world-class!

Half Moon sounds intriguing! What’s the difficulty level like for average golfers? I’d love to give it a shot without being overly frustrated!

It’s definitely manageable for average players, but you’ll want to keep an eye on those bunkers! When you’re done, you can relax on the beach and let all that frustration wash away.

That sounds perfect! Playing golf in the Caribbean truly is a dream. Looking forward to more recommendations and personal experiences!

I’m planning a golfing trip to the Caribbean too! I’ve been looking into courses in the Dominican Republic. The weather is great from November to April, and many resorts offer golf packages.

Absolutely! I’ve been to St. Lucia, and they have some fantastic all-inclusive resorts that cater to golfers. You can hit the links in the morning and relax at the beach in the afternoon!

Sounds amazing! I’ve also heard that Jamaica has some spectacular courses. I’m curious, does anyone have recommendations for accommodations that are golfer-friendly?

It’s worth checking out the Sandals resorts in Jamaica! They offer golf packages that include rounds at nearby courses, plus they’re luxurious and all-inclusive.

I second the Sandals recommendation! I’ve stayed at the Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas, and they have a beautiful course right on the property. You might even spot some wildlife while playing!

While we’re on the topic of wildlife, anyone else have funny stories from golfing in the Caribbean? Last time, I had a curious iguana join my swing! It was a hilarious distraction.

That’s hilarious! I need to watch out for those little buddies while I’m teeing off. I’m also keen to combine my golf with snorkeling. Any tips?

You can’t go wrong with combining golf and snorkeling in the Caribbean! I love the off-course splash in Grand Cayman, where you can find great reefs just a short boat ride away from many golf courses.

When do you all think is the best time to book these trips? I’m a bit hesitant with hurricane season overlapping. Any insights?
