Where's the Best Golfing in the World?

I’m planning a golf trip and really want to explore the best golfing in the world! :earth_africa: I’m curious to find out about the top golf courses that are must-plays, whether they’re well-known for their stunning views, challenging layouts, or unique experiences.

Here are a few things I’m particularly interested in:

  • Rankings: What are the top-ranked courses globally?
  • Locations: Are there any hidden gems that aren’t as mainstream but offer an incredible golfing experience?
  • Travel Tips: Could anyone share insights on the best times to visit these places or any special events happening?

Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated! I’m looking to make this trip memorable and would love to hear everyone’s thoughts. Thanks in advance! :golf::smile:

I couldn’t agree more! Scotland has that classic feel. But have you tried Pebble Beach in California? It’s breathtaking, especially with the cliffs and ocean views!

You can’t beat the charm of Pebble Beach, but don’t sleep on courses like Augusta National. The scenery during the Masters is something else entirely, and the amenities are top-notch.

Augusta is legendary, but I’ve always found the golfing experience in Ireland fascinating. The links courses there have a unique ruggedness and the hospitality is fantastic.

True, but don’t forget about Bandon Dunes! It’s a golfer’s paradise with stunning scenery and no cart paths—it feels so pure.

I’ve heard so much about Bandon Dunes! Is it really as beautiful as people say? I’ve always been curious about the experience there.

Absolutely! The links-style golfing is fun and challenging. Plus, the local fish and chips are a highlight after a long round!

What about the golfing experiences in Thailand? I’ve been to a couple of courses there, and the views of mountains and lush greenery are spectacular. Not to mention the weather is always great!

Interesting! I’ve never thought of Thailand for golf. But then again, what about the unique courses in Australia, like the ones near Sydney?

Australia definitely has some great spots! The Sandbelt courses around Melbourne are Special—great design and rich golfing history. It can’t be beaten.

So true! But am I the only one who finds playing in high winds super challenging? I lose balls left and right!

Haha, I can relate, @lindadavis! Wind can make or break a round. Just once, I’d like to have perfect weather—maybe I need to stick to indoor putting greens instead!

And do we really think indoors will solve our problems? The golf gods will always find a way to challenge us! But seriously, all these destinations sound tempting; I’ll need to plan my next trip soon.

If we’re talking about top golf courses, Pebble Beach in California is a must-play. The scenery is stunning, with views of the Pacific Ocean. It’s challenging, especially holes 8 and 18.

I totally agree! Pebble Beach is a classic. Have you played St. Andrews in Scotland? The history and the iconic landscape there are unforgettable!

St. Andrews is definitely on my bucket list! I’ve heard it can be quite windy, adding to the difficulty. Is it as hard as they say?

Yes, the wind is a huge factor! But it’s not just the wind; the experience of playing on such historic turf is worth it. It’s like walking in the footsteps of legends!

What about Augusta National? I hear it’s pristine and incredibly well-maintained. I’m curious, how does it stack up in terms of difficulty?

Augusta is impeccably maintained, the azaleas are breathtaking! The difficulty level spikes, especially on the back nine. But getting a tee time is another challenge altogether!
